Lead vocalist of Linking Park takes his own life in Los Angeles. He was only 41 years old and was found died in an apartment. He committed suicide on Thursday 20th July morning, as per the report of The Associated Press. A note has been found from the suicidal area and the death is being treated as a suspected suicide. It is believed the lead vocalist hanged himself and was found by an employee at 9:00am on Thursday.
Chester had spoken about his conflicts with drug and alcohol and also about his depression. In a recent interview the singer said “My whole life, I’ve just felt a little off,” and also said “I find myself getting into these patterns of behavior or thought – especially when I’m stuck up here [in my head]; I like to say that, ‘This is like a bad neighborhood, and I should not go walking alone’.”
Chester was very close to singer Chris Cornell, who also killed himself some years back, and this Thursday is Cornell’s 53rd birthday. Chester performed his funeral and gave him a tribute via a post on social media after Cornell’s death.
The lead vocalist and his fellow band members had recently performed an episode of Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, a few days before this heart breaking incident. When Bennington took his last big step, he was alone with no loved ones present there.
Linking Park produced many rock songs including “Numb” and “Breaking the Habit”, with the lyrics often focused on Chester’s personal depression, struggle, and addiction. Chester’s every song was delivered with real emotion and consisted of his own pain that he suffered for years in his past. Millions of teen and his adult fans in the early 2000s found solace in every beat of his song. Bennington’s unexpected suicide on 20th july, 2017 was a moment that has left us terrified and broken for long.
His all-time best 10 songs:

From The Inside – Meteora
Somewhere I Belong – Meteora
Pushing Me Away – Hybrid Theory

In The End – Hybrid Theory
Heavy – One More Light
Given Up – Minutes To Midnight
The Catalyst – A Thousand Suns

Chester Bennington was born in Phoenix, Arizona, achieved notable fame in 2000 by releasing back to back hit albums. “Hybrid Theory” is one of them; almost 5 million copies were sold in which “Crawling” and “One Step Closer” were the most popular solo hits. The album was nominated for Grammy, and his solo “Crawling” won the award for Best Hard Rock Performance.
“Minutes to Midnight” is an album released by linking park in 2007 where we found them moving away from the rage of their earlier nu-metal releases. The co-producer Rick Rubin helped them to focus more on classic rock with shades of U2. Taking this risk, they were benefitted by creating “What I’ve Done,” “Bleed It Out” and “Shadow of the Day,” all of which were certified platinum and multi-platinum. Mike Shinoda confirmed the news on Twitter by saying: “Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.”
